Hal Finney was a renowned cryptographer and the recipient of the first-ever Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto on January 12, 2009. His two-word tweet — "Running bitcoin" — on January 10, 2009, is one of the most iconic messages in tech history. Finney was diagnosed with ALS in 2009 and passed away in 2014. Many consider him a candidate for being Satoshi himself, though this has never been confirmed.
